Cookies Policy
Effective: December 22, 2025 | Last Updated: March 17, 2026
This policy explains how Humbrella uses cookies. The short version: we use cookies only to keep you logged in—nothing more. We do not use cookies to build profiles or sell your data.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device (computer, phone, or tablet). They help websites remember things about your visit.
There are two main types:
- Session cookies: Temporary—deleted when you close your browser
- Persistent cookies: Stay on your device until they expire or you delete them
How Humbrella Uses Cookies
Our Cookie Use Is Simple
We use cookies for one purpose: keeping you logged in. That is it.
Here is exactly what we use:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Required? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session ID | Remembers you are logged in as you navigate pages | Until you log out or close browser | Yes, for logged-in features |
| Remember Me | Keeps you logged in between visits (if you choose) | Up to 30 days | No, optional |
How It Works
- You log in with your email and password
- We create a secure session and give your browser a random session ID
- Your browser sends this ID with each page you visit
- We use this to know it is you—without asking for your password again
- When you log out (or the session expires), the cookie is cleared
If you check "Remember me" at login, we store a longer-lasting cookie so you do not have to log in every time you visit.
What We Do Not Use Cookies For
We do NOT use cookies for:
- Tracking you across other websites
- Building advertising profiles about you
- Behavioral targeting or remarketing
- Selling data to third parties
- Analytics that identify you personally
Humbrella is not an advertising business. We have no interest in tracking your behavior or building profiles about you. Our business model is providing valuable content through subscriptions—not selling your attention to advertisers.
Third-Party Cookies
Some services we use may set their own cookies:
| Service | Purpose | Their Cookies |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Payment processing | Fraud prevention on payment pages only |
| Swarmify | Video delivery | Video player functionality |
| Thinkific | Courses and community platform | Session management for course access |
| Meta (Facebook) | Advertising measurement | The Meta Pixel tracks page visits and subscription events so we can measure whether our ads are reaching the right people. It does not give us access to your personal Facebook data. You can opt out at your Facebook Ad Settings. |
These services only use cookies for their specific functions. We have chosen partners that respect privacy.
Limited tracking for advertising measurement only. We use the Meta Pixel to understand whether our Facebook and Instagram ads are effective — specifically, whether people who see our ads visit our site and subscribe. We do not use Google Analytics, retargeting networks, or any other tracking services. We do not sell your data to advertisers. The Meta Pixel can be blocked by most ad blockers, and you can opt out directly through your Facebook Ad Settings.
The Humbrella App
When you install Humbrella as an app on your phone (through "Add to Home Screen"):
- The app stores your login session securely on your device
- This keeps you logged in without needing cookies in the traditional sense
- You can sign out anytime from Account Settings, which clears this stored session
- Uninstalling the app removes all stored data
Your Choices
Managing Cookies
You are in control of cookies on your device:
- Log out: This clears your session cookie immediately
- Do not check "Remember me": Your session ends when you close your browser
- Clear browser cookies: This logs you out and removes our cookies
- Browser settings: You can block or delete cookies through your browser
- Ad blockers: Most ad blockers will automatically block the Meta Pixel
- Facebook opt-out: Visit Facebook Ad Settings to control how Meta uses your data for advertising
Browser Cookie Settings
Here is how to manage cookies in popular browsers:
- Chrome: support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
- Firefox: support.mozilla.org
- Safari: support.apple.com
- Edge: support.microsoft.com
What Happens If You Block Cookies
If you block all cookies from Humbrella:
- You will not be able to stay logged in
- You will need to log in again on every page
- Some features may not work properly
We recommend allowing our cookies for the best experience, but we respect your choice either way.
Updates to This Policy
If we change how we use cookies, we will update this policy and the "Last Updated" date. Since our cookie use is minimal and privacy-focused, significant changes are unlikely.
