How It Works

1. You log in with your email and password
2. We create a secure session and give your browser a random session ID
3. Your browser sends this ID with each page you visit
4. We use this to know it is you—without asking for your password again
5. When you log out (or the session expires), the cookie is cleared

If you check "Remember me" at login, we store a longer-lasting cookie so you do not have to log in every time you visit.

What We Do Not Use Cookies For

Humbrella is not an advertising business. We have no interest in tracking your behavior or building profiles about you. Our business model is providing valuable content through subscriptions—not selling your attention to advertisers.

The Humbrella App

When you install Humbrella as an app on your phone (through "Add to Home Screen"):

• The app stores your login session securely on your device
• This keeps you logged in without needing cookies in the traditional sense
• You can sign out anytime from Account Settings, which clears this stored session
• Uninstalling the app removes all stored data

Managing Cookies

You are in control of cookies on your device:

• Log out: This clears your session cookie immediately
• Do not check "Remember me": Your session ends when you close your browser
• Clear browser cookies: This logs you out and removes our cookies
• Browser settings: You can block or delete cookies through your browser

What Happens If You Block Cookies

If we change how we use cookies, we will update this policy and the "Last Updated" date. Since our cookie use is minimal and privacy-focused, significant changes are unlikely.
