Privacy Policy
Effective: December 22, 2025 | Last Updated: December 22, 2025
Humbrella is "Shelter from the Storm." That means safetyโnot just in the support we provide, but in how we protect everything you share with us. Your privacy is not just a policy; it is a promise.
What is in This Policy
1. Our Privacy Promise
We Commit To:
- Collect only what we need โ every piece of information has a clear purpose
- Never sell your data โ under any circumstances, ever
- Protect your identity โ you control how you appear to others
- Be transparent โ you can see what we have and why
- Honor your requests โ including deleting your data if you ask
2. What We Collect
Here is exactly what information we collect and why:
| Information | Why We Need It |
|---|---|
| Email address | So you can log in and we can send important updates |
| Password | To keep your account secure (we store this encrypted, never as plain text) |
| Display name | How you appear to others in the community (you choose this) |
| Phone number | To send you occasional texts about new content or events (only if you approve) |
| Payment information | To process subscriptions and purchases (handled by Stripe, not stored by us) |
| What you have watched | So you can pick up where you left off |
| Course progress | To track your journey and celebrate completions |
| Community posts | Content you choose to share with the community |
| Feedback you submit | Private messages to our team (only visible to our small admin team) |
3. What We Do Not Collect
We never collect:
- Your physical address (Stripe handles billing addresses separately)
- Your birthdate
- Your location
- Your IP address connected to what you view
- Device fingerprints or tracking identifiers
- Your search queries within the app
We do not use advertising trackers, remarketing pixels, or any technology designed to follow you around the internet. Humbrella is not an advertising businessโwe are here to support you, not sell you.
4. Your Identity: You are in Control
Display Name vs. Real Identity
When you join Humbrella, you choose a display name. This is how you appear to other members. It can be your first name, a nickname, or anything that feels right to you.
Your real name (if you provide one for payment) and email address are never visible to other members.
Anonymous Posting
In our community spaces, you can choose to post anonymously. When you do:
- Other members see "Anonymous" instead of your display name
- Your identity is protected from other community members
- Our small admin team can still see who posted (for safety and moderation purposes only)
Why we keep anonymous posts linked to accounts: To maintain a safe, supportive community, we need to be able to address harmful behavior. Rest assured, we only use this information for moderationโnever to expose your identity publicly.
What Other Members Can Never See
- Your email address
- Your real name
- Your phone number
- Your subscription level
- What content you have watched
- Your course progress
- When you were last active
- Any private feedback you have submitted
5. Cookies and Staying Logged In
What Are Cookies?
When you log into Humbrella, we need a way to remember that it is you as you move from page to page. We do this with a small piece of data called a "cookie" that your browser stores.
How We Use Cookies
| Cookie Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Keeps you logged in while you use Humbrella | Until you log out or 24 hours of inactivity |
| "Remember me" cookie | Lets you return without logging in again (if you choose) | Up to 30 days |
What We Do Not Use Cookies For
- Tracking you across other websites
- Building advertising profiles
- Selling to third parties
- Storing personal information (cookies only contain a random ID)
If You Install the Humbrella App
When you add Humbrella to your phone's home screen, the app securely stores your login session so you do not have to sign in every time. You can always sign out from your account settings, which clears this stored session.
6. Services We Use
We work with a small number of trusted services to run Humbrella:
| Service | What They Do | What They See |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Processes payments securely | Your payment details (we never see your full card number) |
| Swarmify | Delivers video content smoothly | Which videos are played (no user identification) |
| Campaign Monitor | Sends emails to you | Your email and display name only |
| Thinkific | Hosts courses and community platform | Your email, display name, and course progress |
Humbrella may use third-party software for certain features, which may require a separate log-in for structured courses, online video conferences, and live events. When using these services, you are also subject to their terms and conditions.
We only share the minimum information each service needs to do its job. We never share your community posts, viewing history, or private feedback with any third party.

8. How We Protect Your Data
