Course 1 â Lesson 6: Energy Centers â Sixth Chakra (Third Eye)
The sixth energy center is the third eye chakra. The color is indigo, the element is Light, and it sits right between the eyebrows. This is the center of intuition, clarity, and wisdom.
When this center is open, a person knows they are on the right track â not because someone told them, but because they can feel it. There is a sense of purpose in how they move through the day. Decisions come from a grounded place rather than a reactive one. Mindfulness feels natural instead of forced, and there is a quiet confidence in trusting what they already know.
This is also where all the work from the lower energy centers comes together. The security from the root, the identity from the sacral, the personal power from the solar plexus, the love from the heart, the honest expression from the throat â all of it feeds into this center. The sixth chakra takes that accumulated wisdom and turns it into clear sight.
When this center is out of balance, the clearest sign is that a person starts living in illusion. Not seeing things as they are, but as fear or habit insists they must be. Intuition goes quiet. Decisions feel foggy. A person might find themselves running on autopilot â reacting to life rather than choosing how to meet it.
The good news is that once someone has experienced this center open â once they have felt that clarity, that sense of seeing beyond the surface â they recognize immediately when it closes. The contrast is unmistakable. And the desire to return to that clarity becomes its own compass.
This is where inquiry becomes especially powerful. The illusions that cloud the third eye are not random.
They are specific thoughts, believed without examination. "I do not know what I am doing." "I cannot trust my own judgment." "Something is wrong with me that I cannot fix." These thoughts feel like truth when they go unquestioned. But they are not facts. They are beliefs â and beliefs can be held up to the light and examined.
When those beliefs are questioned honestly, the fog lifts.
A person stops second-guessing every decision and starts trusting what they see clearly. That is the sixth energy center doing what it was meant to do.
